Editor's Note

Welcome from Tree Riesener, SVJ LIT Editor

Welcome to the inaugural issue of  SVJ LIT, the online editon of the Schuylkill Valley Journal.  The SVJ has issued 25 volumes since its inception by Founding Editor Jim Marinell.  Jim’s brainchild has been carried on and nurtured by the present Editor, Peter Krok.  Now we have added this online version.  In this issue, we are featuring selections from our Srping and Fall 2007 magazine. 

However, SVJ LIT will grow and develop as any newborn child does.  In the future, we plan on bringing you selections from previous issues as well as content only to be found online. 

At the present time, we are not accepting submissions especially aimed at SVJ LIT.  We will be using material from our regular submissions and solicited material.  If you are interested in submitting to both the print and online editions, please use the information found in the Submissions section.

The Schuylkill Valley Journal publishes poetry, short stories and critical essays.  Both the SVJ and SVJ LIT come out twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.
